the way it should be done.

A real tune-up, not a 15-minute sales visit. Two visits per year, full checklists, honest reporting on what we find. Keeps your system running closer to its rated efficiency and catches problems before they become emergencies.

  • Check refrigerant pressure and superheat
  • Inspect indoor evaporator coil
  • Clear condensate drain line
  • Check and replace air filter (standard)
  • Test blower motor amperage
  • Verify thermostat calibration and run cycle
Fall visit

Furnace tune-up

  • Clean burner assembly
  • Inspect heat exchanger for cracks
  • Test hot surface ignitor resistance
  • Clean flame sensor
  • Verify gas pressure at manifold

Why bother with maintenance?

Three reasons. First, it saves money on utilities. A clean system runs closer to its SEER or AFUE rating. A dirty one can cost 20% more to run.

Second, it prevents breakdowns. Most catastrophic failures (compressor seizures, heat exchanger cracks) start with smaller issues that are visible to a technician months earlier. Fixing a $135 capacitor at a tune-up beats a $3,000 compressor failure in August.

Third, it keeps warranties valid. Lennox (and Carrier, Trane, etc.) require documented annual maintenance for their 10-year warranty. Skip it, and a major failure in year 7 might not be covered.

What maintenance customers say.

“Quality, honest service with clear communication. They stepped in when another company failed us, arriving within an hour to fix someone else’s mistake without a charge. We have already had them return to perform preventative maintenance at a fair price with great attention to detail.”
William Ochs
“Nathan inspected our furnace system yesterday. He was on-time, respectful, friendly and did a great job. We now use Sycamore Heating for all our properties.”
Greg R
“Honest and professional. They provided the last annual service to our home. Aaron was able to extend the life of one of our older units and on price comparison provided us with competitive rates on a new unit in the future.”

Maintenance FAQ.

How often should I have my HVAC system serviced?

Twice a year. Spring tune-up for the AC (before the first heat wave), fall tune-up for the furnace (before the first hard freeze). This is what manufacturer warranties require, and it's what actually extends system life.

Does maintenance really prevent breakdowns?

Most catastrophic failures show early warning signs — weakening capacitors, climbing motor amperage, low refrigerant charge, dirty coils reducing efficiency. Maintenance catches these when they're cheap fixes instead of emergency calls at 2am.

What if you find something that needs repair during a tune-up?

We tell you what we found, share the flat-rate repair price, and let you decide. No high-pressure. Sometimes the answer is "watch it for now." Sometimes it's "let's fix this today while we're here."

Do I have to be on a plan to get a single tune-up?

No. You can book a one-off spring or fall tune-up any time. The plan just makes it automatic — we reach out to schedule, you don't have to remember.
